Aldershot again travelled away to Brockham which is past Dorking. the brockham pitch is a big pitch if not full size and the girls looked small but not out of place and with no subs worked very hard to get the result Aldershot always looked the best it was just fitness that was going to tell. Aldershot scored first and held it for a while but Brockham came back and equalized and they went in at half time one all. the second half Aldershot were out and ready to go and waiting for Brockham to come out Aldershot now playing down hill and camp them selves in the Brockham half and it paid off and scored three more times to make the final score four three Aldershot. NEHYL (A) Wey Valley -v- Aldershot Town

Sunday 9th Mar 08

Final score

Wey Valley 2 (two) Aldershot 3 (three)

Half Time

Wey Valley  0 (Nil) Aldershot 1 (one)

GOM - Ailsa

Aldershot travelled down to Wey Valley for the rearranged match that could decided the second place in the NEHYL Aldershot currently second and Wey Valley third but with a game in hand both know that Reading have won the league and the fight is for second now. On a damp pitch with a bit of standing water Aldershot were up for the game and got of to a great start and showed there intentions to come away with the points. Wey Valley were not going to let this happen and were very physical and defended well but Aldershot were able to stand up and as a team with across from the right with power went in Aldershot took the lead. Aldershot had more of the play and chances but went in only one nil up at half time. Wey Valley came straight back but the Aldershot defence held and were able to get a second to go two nil clear. Wey valley came back and got a goal but Aldershot got a third. Wey valley fought back and got there second but Aldershot had more chances and only the final touch or the wayward kick kept the score to Three two Aldershot. the GOM went to Ailsa who played out on the left the best she had for a couple of weeks now.

Sunday 2nd Mar 08

Final score

Hamsey 3 (three) Aldershot 6 (six)

Half time

Hamsey 2 (two) Aldershot 3 (three)

The trip to Hamsey is a long trip but the games are good, the last was a 7-6 thriller and this was no different Hamsey went behind but fought back to get to half time 2 -3 down. Aldershot went out in the second half to secure the points and with the wind against them kept the majority of the ball and with some great pass and movement able to get to full time with a 6 - 3 win. again another great game of football with some clinical finishing by the GOM Lauren.

Sunday 2nd Mar 08

Final score

Alton 2 (two) Aldershot 7 (seven)

Half Time

GOM - Georgina

This rearranged match had no problems with ice this time and Aldershot got of to a great start as the pace of the forwards were able to get behind the Alton defence and they spent a lot of the game in the Alton half. When Alton got out of there half they were dangerous but good defending by both sides kept the half time score to three nil to Aldershot. with the large squad that Aldershot have there was a lot of opportunity to try people out in different positions and rest players. Alton fought back but the final score was seven two to Aldershot GOM went to Georgina for some good defenive work.

SCGL (A) West By Fleet -v- Aldershot Town

Sunday 17th Feb 08

Final score

West By Fleet 1 (one) Aldershot 2 (Two)

Half time

West By Fleet 1 (one) Aldershot 1 (One)

GOM - Ellie

On a cold and frosty morning Aldershot girls travelled east to West By Fleet for the return leg of the SCGL fixture. The previous encounter was a bit one sided but this time West By Fleet were a better team and this showed as Aldershot were encamped in their end but could not get a shot on goal with any power. West By Fleet broke out and on the second trip in to the Aldershot end scored to take the lead. This was going to be harder than last time. Aldershot had all the play but just could not finish, West By Fleet were defending hard and it was a relief when Aldershot equalised to go in at half time one all. The second half started with a little rearrange in midfield and Aldershot again went to encamp in the West By Fleet end. Yet again they fought hard and there was no way through, the game went on and Aldershot could not see away to get that goal. As the time ticked down it needed something special from either team to get the result, luck for us it was Nadine who got a wonderful cross in to the six yard box and Lauren was on the end to score two one Aldershot five minutes to go. The girls kept the ball and West By Fleet could not get back and the ref blew full time. This is what it is all about the improvement of West By Fleet was fantastic and Aldershot had to work really hard but again kept going till the whistle went and earned the win. The Girl of the Match went to Ellie for great work all around the pitch a another never give up game from the Aldershot Squad which got the result.

NEHYL (A) Reading -v- Aldershot Town

Sunday 17th Feb 08

Final score

Reading 1 (One) Aldershot 1 (One)

Half Time

Reading 0 (Nil) Aldershot 1 (One)

GOM - Amy H

The Visit to the top of the table team and currently unbeaten team Reading was a late kick off so we were able to play with the early frost now gone and the pitch in great form. this was set for a good game. Reading play fantastic football which is a credit to there set up and management staff. Aldershot went in to the game with belief that they could get a result here and started out strong. As the game went on the touch line noise went up and the match that unfolded in front of us was turning out to be a classic game of football. Aldershot had learned from there last encounter and closed down the runners and did not allow Reading to play there great football. When we attacked it was direct and with purpose and soon Reading began to defend in numbers. Then from a Aldershot brake they scored one nil to Aldershot and it stayed that way till half time. Straight from the restart Reading attacked and Aldershot had no reply One all. the game went and it was for a netural a great game by both sides and the standard of football was deserved of the two top teams in this league. Aldershot suffered a few injuries but that was because the commitment was 100% by all the girls. This game could have gone either way but ended up a draw a great result for Aldershot and the first dropped points by Reading . The Girl of the Match went to Amy H for a fantastic goal keeping performance.

GOM Lucy

At last the girls got an away match to a hot place and California was the destination, not in America but Finchampstead, the hot winter sun was out and the blue sky had no wind in it. this game was a hard fought game with both sides out playing each other. and this was reflected in the half time score of nil nil. Aldershot had hit the cross bar and the California Keeper was forced to make two great saves but Aldershot kept going and final broke the deadlock and Ailsa put the ball in the back of the net one nil Aldershot. California fought back but the defence held out and they pushed the ball forward and Amy got on the end of a great ball and finished off to make it two nil and that is how it stayed. the girl of the match went to lucy for a great defensive roll.

Aldershot had to keep fighting back but when they did Hamsey went in front again until it was five all. Aldershot then went two goals clear and Hamsey tried to get back they got one to make it 7 - 6 but the clock run out with Aldershot pushing forward again the ref blew full time. A win for Aldershot in a hard fought game that could have gone anywhere. the girl of the match went to Vicki for her hat trick.

SCGL (H) Aldershot Town -v- Guildford Saints

Sunday 27th Jan 08

 Final score

Aldershot Town 2 -v- 4 Guildford Saints

Half time

Aldershot Town 1 -v- 3 Guildford Saints

Scorers: Amy H & Lauren.

GOM Amy W

Guildford Saints visited Bourley road for the return leg of this league match, the last a Four Three game was away at Guildford. Guildford took the lead and soon had a two goal lead after a lot of pressure from Aldershot where we cleared the Guildford goal from under the bar and the upright kept us out of the game the Guildford goals came when they quickly turned defence in to attack and got one on one with the keeper, Katia did the right thing but the Guildford striker was able to put the ball around her. Aldershot got back in the game, then from a Guildford corner the ball some how travelled along the goal line past three Aldershot players and then a guildford foot pushed across the line to make half time three one.
the second half again Aldershot had a lot of the play and kept the pressure and even though they scored again Guildford got a fourth. no matter what Aldershot tried the cross bar and diving keeper from Guildford kept Aldershot out and the final score was Aldershot two Guildford four. this was Aldershot first defeat in this league, the girls all played well as what is the norm now and Amy W got Girl of the Match for her never give up altitude and trying every thing she could. At no time did the Aldershot heads go done and again both sides played some good football.

NEHYL (A) Hartley Whitney -v- Aldershot Town

 Sunday 27th Jan 08

 Final score

Hartley Whitney 3 -v- 6 Aldershot Town

Half time

Hartley Whitney 2 -v- 3 Aldershot Town

Scorers: Lauren (3), Amy H (2) & Amy W (1).

GOM Christine & Georgina.

Aldershot went to Hartley Wintney for an early kick off and with the blue sky and low sun the two teams lined up against each other for the second time it two weeks. The last encounter was a hard fought one all at Bourley road. Aldershot and Hartley play very similar football so it was first to get in front would control the game. At Hartley there is a strange phenomenon where the ball seems to run up hill faster and several time the ball through the Hartley defence ran away up hill from the Aldershot attack. but the girls kept going and got the early goal and it continued from there and soon had a two goal lead but Hartley, as we knew were capable of came back and end to end football started Aldershot made it three but Hartley came back to make the half time score Aldershot Three Hartley Two. In the second half Aldershot got the two goal lead back but Hartley kept going and made it Four Three the last ten minutes became heart stopping as Hartley threatened to equalised but Aldershot took control and finished with a rush to make the final score Six Three to Aldershot. Again another good game of football played in good sprit of the game. the Girl of the match went to two girls this week Christine and Georgina for their good work in the left and right back positions. it is now becoming more difficult to select the GOM as all are playing good entertaining football and as a coach and with the parents the normal is every one is playing so well.

SCGL (A) Kingstonian Youth -v- Aldershot Town

 Sunday 20th Jan 08

 Final score

Kingstonian Youth 0 -v- 6 Aldershot Town

Half time

Kingstonian Youth 0 -v- 2 Aldershot Town

GOM Jessica

The trip away to kingstonian was a morning out to the Thames, we arrived with  full squad but no regular keeper, So last seasons keeper stepped in for her first time in the big goals. But she had no worries as Aldershot controlled the game from the start. the pitch was wider than our home ground an Aldershot were able to stretch the Kingstonian girls as the tried to get in to the game. Lauren Scored first and Rebecca made it Two nil at half time. it could have been more but for the good defending and goal keeping from Kingstonian. the Second half Rebecca went in goal and Aldershot kept he pressure on with Jessica constantly picking the ball up in her own half and running the full length of the pitch to get a cross in the forwards had to work hard to keep up with her. Amy scored the third and then Ailsa got two but in the last few minutes of the game jessica got her reward for her efforts and scored the sixth goal final score Six nil Aldershot. Girl of the Match Jessica for such hard work and determination to get the perfect cross in.

Half time

Aldershot Town 1 -v- 1 Hartley Whitney

GOM Lucy

This game produced a fantastic game of Football Hartley Wintney came to Aldershot to play and play they did they scored first and then Aldershot equalised and from then on it was a tight game of football both sides had chances the wood work saved both sides misses and great saves good defending the odd ball not sitting right as the strike went in the game had it all but only the two goals in the first ten minutes and that is how it stayed. we are at Hartley next Sunday with an early KO so here we go again. Girl of the match Lucy for another great Captains roll.

SCGL (H) Aldershot Town -v- AFC Walcountians

 Sunday 13th Jan 08

 Final score

Aldershot Town  5 -v- 2 AFC Walcountians

Half time

Aldershot Town 2 -v- 1 AFC Walcountians

GOM Katia

This top of the table clash was in doubt as the rain poured down at the end of the week but a call at ten on Sunday morning gave the go ahead for the game. When the two teams met earlier in the season at AFC Walcountians it was a draw of six all. Walcountians were now sitting top of the division and Aldershot third and only three points between them, they came in force and with a large supporting crowd, which is always good to see. From the start Aldershot were under a lot of pressure and walcountians went a head after ten minutes. this seam to wake Aldershot up and they fought back with a goal from Nadine. As the game went on it became clear this would be a midfield battle, so two of Aldershot's holding players were sent on and this produced immediate results and Aldershot won a corner and from this Lauren turned the ball in to make it two one to Aldershot. The second half Walcountians came out strong and continued to close Aldershot down and prevent them from playing and soon both teams were playing the same game and for periods of time were camped in one end then the other. Walcountians got the equaliser and this looked like another draw but Aldershot heads never went down and with a rearrage of players to change tired legs Aldershot got back in front from a goal mouth scramble goal from Vicki. When both teams got in each others box it was in large numbers and some times you wondered how the ball never went in or how it got out. Both teams had chances and it was great goal keeping at both ends that kept the game tight. but persistance from Aldershot and Paige got the fourth to put the cushion that they needed with five minutes to go. To finish off an Aldershot Corner came out to Amy W and she turned the ball in to the top corner and Aldershot's fifth. A good game with good support from both sides and a good result from Aldershot made it a good day out. The Girl of the Match went to Katia for some fantastic saves and great keeping overall but anyone on that pitch could have got the GOM a great team effort.

SCGL Cup (A) Knaphill Wanderers   V Aldershot Town

 Sunday 2nd Dec 07

 Final score

Knaphill Wanderers 6 V 5 Aldershot Town

Half time

Knaphill Wanderers 3 V 5 Aldershot Town

GOM Amy W

The visit to Knaphill the top of the premier league for the County Cup match saw one of the best games for a while. Aldershot under strengthen, missing four of their top players including a the keeper and a striker in goal. Knaphill took the lead then Aldershot came back then Knaphill took the lead again but Aldershot came back. then Aldershot took the lead then made it a two goal advantage then Knaphill come back and Aldershot just before half time made it five three. At half time the team talk was to keep going as they were. Once out on the pitch knaphill had to change their game to stop Aldershot and they did this and with their one up front slowly got back in to the game missed tackles by Aldershot allowed Knaphill back in to the game and with five minutes to go they scored a sixth goal and then hanged on to win. Aldershot can be proud that they nearly did it against a team doing so well in the league above and down so many players. Girl of the match went to Amy W for her fine goal keeping.

On a wet and windy Sunday we travelled away to the Rushmoor ground (the next field down) and lined up with Amy H in goal as Katia was away the weather did have an effect on the game but Aldershot did not let that get to them to much and took control of the game. The second half the wind seem to turn slightly in the direction of Aldershot's play and as the rain came down more took advantage and took the final score to ten nil. The Rushmoor keeper kept the score down and played right to the end with a fantastic performance only the quality of the Aldershot shots beat her. the Girl of the Match went to Jessica for some great runs and top crosses into the danger area.

GOM Vicki

A good team performance by Aldershot all round on a large pitch. Woking had a good home record and defended well but Aldershot kept going and chased the ball down to take control in the midfield and with the pace of the Aldershot forwards were able to send balls behind the Woking defence and look like scoring every time they got behind them. Woking put a strong show but Aldershot looked the better organised and played well with in themselves. When Aldershot attacked they attacked with four and the first and second goal come from the there being Aldershot players across the whole line and Amy and Ailsa where able to put the ball into an empty net. the third was from a corner with a short ball in and a flick over the keeper and defenders by Ellie. GOM was Vicki for keeping the defence strong and being there to cover and help Aldershot and Katia keep a clean sheet

Again another good team performance by the rest of the Aldershot squad. Sandhurst were stronger than the last time these two teams met and gave Aldershot a good game and made them work for the points. Lauren used her pace and strength to put five pass Sandhurst, but Sandhurst came back in the second half but Aldershotdefence held strong and a few miss hits by sandhurst kept Aldershot in the game. The team spirit of Aldershot helped them come through and come away with the points. GOM the Match went to Lauren for her hard work up front and the Five goals.

Aldershot girls played determined football and chased down balls and applied pressure on to Wey Valley, which did not allow Wey Valley to play their game of football. A lot of the play was in the Wey Valley half and solid performances from the Aldershot girls controlled Wey Valley. With a fantastic strike from Vicki at the penalty spot effectively put Wey Valley out of the game. At last the luck was Aldershot's and the result came as well. Selina for her terrier performance and never give up Aldershot style got her the Girl of the match award.

Aldershot with the rest of the squad were slow to react to Hartley Witney's break through ball and were made to pay with goal's in the first half by Hartley Witney. Aldershot came back stronger in the second but when the ball does bounce right and you hit the post may be this year the cup is not for you. All the girls worked hard and did get a reward but the pressure was soaked up by Hartley Witney and they got a third as Aldershot pushed. The Girl of the match Katia for a fantastic brave goal keeping performance.
