2007 / 2008 Season

Since the end of last season a lot has been going on behind the scenes in preparation for the forthcoming season. The Club has assembled a Committee to make sure the ladies section is moving in the right direction. Former first team manager Vic Harry has become the Club’s Chairman and John Hargreaves the former reserve team manager has become the club’s Vice Chairman / Treasurer.

The Club would like to officially welcome Andy Liddicott as first team manager. We would also like to welcome Jamie Woodfield; Jamie will be 1st team assistant Manager / Coach. Jamie has a very good background in football and is a UEFA “B” license (level 3) coach. Dan Gowler has also agreed to assist the team as goalkeeping coach.

We are pleased to announce that we have kept majority of the squad from last season and have made two summer signings. Caroline Shepherd (who has played for University of Exeter & Woking) and Crystal Kagbo (who joins us from University of Portsmouth ) Caroline is a tough tackling midfielder who has made the midfield more competitive and Crystal is a striker that has tormented Aldershot Town in the past and is a player we have been interested in last season. Five girls from last seasons successful reserve team have been invited to play for the first team.

A lot of work has been going on to strengthening the links with the main Club and some projects have been put together and will be discussed over the season.

It has been agreed that the Ladies will be able to display our end of season main trophies in the Ambassadors suite at the Recreation Ground. I would like to thank the Aldershot Supporters Committee for donating one of the trophies.
We will be training two nights a week over the summer period to get our fitness levels up and be match fit for our first competitive match on the 2nd September. Then we will resume back at Ash Manor.

Aldershot Town Ladies First Team remain in the Southern Region Premier League, by finishing forth in the League last year after being promoted the season before.  Unfortunately we will not be running a reserve team this season but we will be working towards rebuilding the reserve team for season 2008 / 2009.

Aldershot Town Ladies will be running under 12's and under 13's girls team's this season. The under 13's girls will be playing in the
Surrey County Girls League Division 2 and the North East Hants League Division 1. The under 12's girls will be playing in the North East Hants Southern League.

The first and team train at Bourley Road playing fields, Aldershot, on Tuesday's & Thursday's from 7.30pm until 9pm (July to September) and Ash Manor Sports Centre, Ash, from 7:20pm until 9pm (September to May) on Wednesday nights.
